Visibility Across 5,000+ Schools, Ending a 'Historical Blindness'

Education-Technology Monitoring + BI

Client
Challenge

DIGETE integrates information and communication technologies into the educational process — the legacy of the “Huascarán” project and its successors — reporting to the Vice-Ministry of Pedagogical Management. It managed and monitored educational technology for public schools without any systematization: the technology existed, but knowledge management did not. Decisions rested on goodwill and the prior experience of office heads, with no feedback on whether equipment was right or service quality was acceptable — effectively working blind. The first obstacle was cultural: users feared systematization was an individual-evaluation tool, and there was no clear plan for what data to keep or how to filter what mattered.

The Approach

AYNITECH reframed systematization as a best practice rather than an assessment, then built the information structure to support it — implemented on MicroStrategy on the consultants’ recommendation.

The Outcome

DIGETE gained a real picture of more than five thousand sites nationwide — enough to identify and determine variables, define metrics, and project realistically for the years ahead.

In Their Words

“Implementing this project lets us break with a historical blindness — and it changes how information is used and managed at the Ministry of Education.”
